 Welcome to a picturesque retreat in a hidden part of France. In the foothills of the Alps rests the village of Aiguines, which looks down on the beautiful lake of Sainte-Croix. This is High Provence and is in the Var region of France. Behind the village lies the spectacular Gorges du Verdon, which provide a wealth of activities both in winter and summer. From early March when the snows melt it is possible to white water raft down into the lake. Climbers come from all over the world to enjoy the stark beauty of the Gorge. Whether you want to push yourself to the extreme or find some peace of mind then you will want to include our residence in your next holiday plan. In the links section we have tried to make it easy for you to find things to do before you get there and have also included links to airline companies. Whether you fly to Nice, Marseille or Toulon it will take about 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach the village. You will need transport to enjoy the area, as we cannot vouch for public transport in this area

The house tour is a snapshot of the interior of the house which has recently been refurbished and furnished. You will see that the interior retains many of its original features including oak beams and ceramic tiled floors, we have ensured that the furnishing is in keeping with the style of the house. We have also installed an automatic washing machine, microwave, CD player, kettle and coffee maker together with sheets and other bedding. More... |
Accommodation
The house is traditional in its build with small windows and shutters to keep out the sun in the summer. Built over four floors the rooms are spacious, the attic room will accommodate a couple or two children, whilst the next level has a bathroom and second bedroom which again is large enough for a couple or two children. The Village
The Verdon canyon is the second largest natural canyon in the world, after the Grand Canyon in the USA. In parts the power of the torrent over the millennia has dug away to make it over 300 meters deep. The village of Aiguines is located at the opening to this canyon, sat high on the cliff tops overlooking the clear blue waters of the Sainte-Croix Lake. More...
